The Congress of Country Music would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and fans of the brightest sparkle in country music, Dolly Parton. Dolly gave of herself, both professionally and personally, in every endeavor she undertook. From the memorable hit songs that crossed the bounds of country music to an acting career that came as naturally as her sweet southern drawl, she brought the world together, for better as only she could. Three years ago, tomorrow, The Congress of Country Music benefited greatly from the concert she performed inside our hallowed walls in Philadelphia, Mississippi. She did it out of her love for Marty and Connie, with a smile on her face and a song in her heart to help support the cause of preserving the history of country music.
